If you wish to transfer a domain from one domain name registrar to another, you’ll have to go through a couple of security procedures. One of them is getting a special EPP code from the current registrar company – on the condition that you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the domain owner’s email address and nobody else can see it. You will have to provide this code to the new registrar company, or else they won’t be able to start the domain transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may contain numbers or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy & paste the right code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer code for a domain may be changed regularly. Some companies call this code a domain secret, an Auth key or a domain password as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Hosting

Getting the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain name registered through us under a shared hosting account is very easy. You won’t need to switch between different Control Panels, since you can manage both your domain names and your hosting account from one and the same place – our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel. To get the transfer code for any domain name, you just need to visit the Registered Domains section and to click the mini EPP sign, which will be situated on the right-hand side of any domain name whose extension supports transfers with an EPP code. Our system will email the code to the domain name registrant’s email address instantly. If you want to update the email, you can do it from the exact same section of the hosting Control Panel with just a couple of clicks.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you have registered a domain that you want to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code incredibly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage both your domain names and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll notice an EPP button on the right side of your domain names, provided that their TLD extensions support transfers between domain registrars with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to ensure that only the domain name owner can see this info. In case the current email address is not valid anymore, you can modify it with several mouse clicks without the need to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the respective domain right away.
